Greenhouse gas emissions (GEI)

Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are gases present in the atmosphere that trap energy and contribute to warming the Earth’s surface. However, various human activities release these gases in the form of pollution, increasing their concentration in the atmosphere and causing a rise in the Earth’s average temperature. These releases are known as GHG emissions.

The proposed commitments are as follows:

  • Scope 1 and 2 Commitment (1.5°C scenario): Reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 58.8% by 2034, compared to the 2023 base year, in line with a pathway compatible with a 1.5°C scenario.

  • Scope 3 Commitment (2.0°C scenario): Reduce Scope 3 emissions by 35% by 2034, compared to the 2023 base year, aligned with a 2.0°C scenario.

Energy

Given the importance of electricity for the Aguas Group's operations, its evolution in price and quantity, and future prospects, a front was developed in Avanza+, which evolved into Acelera, dedicated to this issue.

Residues

By applying a circular economy model to all its processes, Aguas Andinas seeks to reduce, reuse, and repurpose its waste.
